I previously owned, what I believe to be a nylon version of this flag with embroidered stars (company unk). I use it once a year. I attach it to my motorcycle and although my speeds are generally around 25-40 mph occasionally I get up to 55 miles an hour for short periods. Over the course of six years the ends have totally frayed and deteriorated and I was using super glue to keep it together. I guess my question is, how durable is this flag in winds?

Hello! Flying a flag at speed will definitely accelerate the deterioration process. We know customers like to do it but we never recommend it. We cant really say what the life span of this flag will be as there are just too many factors and again, the consideration of it being flown at such speeds. With that said, we do offer a high quality nylon so should stand up against anything else.

The US Cavalry adopted this flag just prior to the start of the Civil War. The original design called for silver stars, but this was changed to Gold shortly after as the Silver was easily marked and Tarnished.
