Hello, that particular finial is plastic and is a slipover the top type fit. There is no easy way to swap to a different finial - would have to be customized by user.

There is nothing to rust or rot and your flag rotates with the wind thanks to the spinning clips on the pole. Larger diameter than standard poles - 1.25" diameter makes it very sturdy - but make sure you have compatible bracket hardware.
