This 2-position cast aluminum bracket is built specifically for 1.25" (1¼") diameter flagpoles — the heavier, oversized poles often used as upgrades from standard 1" residential setups, or paired with the larger flags that demand a sturdier mount. The cast aluminum body has a clean silver finish that matches most exterior trim, and the bracket includes three mounting screws plus a side-mounted thumb screw that locks the pole securely in place.

Two angle positions are machined directly into the casting — approximately 45° for traditional outward flag display, or approximately 90° for tighter-clearance situations under porches and overhangs. Set the angle once at installation and the bracket holds it without further adjustment.

About the Mounting Hardware

This bracket includes three mounting screws sized for installation into wood siding, fence posts, and similar wood substrates. The integrated thumb screw on the side of the bracket clamps against the pole to lock it firmly in place — no separate fastener needed for the pole itself.

For brick, masonry, stucco, fiber-cement, or aluminum trim, the included wood screws may not be the right choice. These surfaces typically require masonry anchors, self-tapping screws, or specialty fasteners depending on what you're mounting through. The wrong fastener can mean the difference between a bracket that holds for decades and one that pulls out in the first windstorm.

Will This Work With a Big-Box Store Pole?

In most cases, yes — but it really boils down to the diameter of your pole. Measure twice, cut once. Most big-box-store oversized poles use the 1.25" outer diameter standard, but manufacturer tolerances can vary, and not every "thicker than standard" pole is actually 1.25".
