1.5" Outrigger Bracket - 45º Flagpole Holder with Wall Plate

This is our heavy-duty 45º outrigger bracket, built to mount a 1.5" diameter flagpole to a wall, post, or other vertical surface. Welded steel construction, black powdercoat finish, and a generous wall plate that spreads the load across multiple fasteners — this bracket is built like a tank.

It's the wall-mount counterpart to our oak outrigger flagpole setup, and the bracket of choice for anyone running a 1.5" pole on a house, garage, porch column, fence post, or commercial storefront. Pole and flag sold separately.

This bracket fits 1.5" diameter poles only. The most common return reason on flagpole brackets is size mismatch — customers measure the wrong dimension or assume their pole matches without checking.

We also offer a 30º version of this bracket for customers who specifically want a flatter mounting angle — most people choose the 45º.

Mounting Surface Notes

The included lag screws are sized for wood mounting — into a stud, a solid wood post, a porch column, or similar. If you're mounting to anything else, you'll need different fasteners:

• Brick or masonry: use masonry anchors (sleeve anchors or wedge anchors) rated for the load
• Stucco over wood: drill carefully through the stucco, use the included lags into the wood substrate behind
• Vinyl siding: do NOT mount directly to vinyl — you must hit a stud behind the siding, and we recommend a vinyl mounting block to prevent cracking
• Metal siding or hollow wall: contact us before installing — these surfaces typically aren't structurally sufficient for an outrigger bracket under flag load

What Size Flag Can I Fly?

This bracket isn't formally load-tested to a specific flag size, but it's substantially overbuilt for residential use. We sell it most often with a 3x5' flag, and a 4x6' is well within its capability on a properly mounted 1.5" pole.

Will this bracket fit my flagpole?

This bracket fits 1.5" outside diameter poles only. If your pole is a different size — 1", 1.25", or larger — this bracket will not work. Measure the outside diameter of your pole before ordering, and call us at 1-888-697-3524 if you're not sure.

What's the difference between the 45º and 30º version?

The angle refers to how far the pole projects outward from the wall. The 45º (this bracket) is the standard choice and gives the flag plenty of room to fly freely. The 30º version mounts the pole at a flatter angle, closer to the wall — less common, but available if you specifically need it.

Does this come with a flagpole?

No. The bracket is sold separately. Our oak outrigger flagpole is the natural pairing if you need a 1.5" pole to go with it.

Can I mount this on brick, stucco, or vinyl siding?

The included lag screws are for wood mounting. For brick or masonry, use appropriately rated masonry anchors instead. For vinyl siding, you must mount through the siding into structural framing behind, and we recommend a vinyl mounting block. Don't mount an outrigger bracket directly to siding alone — there's not enough holding power for the leverage involved.

What size flag can I fly from this bracket?

We typically sell it with a 3x5' flag and wouldn't hesitate to go up to 4x6'. For larger flags or commercial installations, contact us first to confirm you have the right setup.

Is this bracket made in the USA?
