This is a reproduction of the flag of the 1st Maryland Cavalry, Company E — also known as the Winder Cavalry. The unit was named in honor of Charles S. Winder, a Maryland native and commander in the famed Stonewall Brigade, who was killed at the Battle of Cedar Mountain.
