About the Florida Flag Design
The Florida state flag features a very distinctive design that has been found on numerous flags throughout American history. A red St. Andrew's cross on a white field showcases the heritage of Florida and reflects the Confederate battle flag used during the Civil War. At the center of the cross is the state seal, depicting a Seminole woman with flowers by a shoreline, with a steamboat sailing and a sun rising in the background. "Great Seal of the State of Florida" and "In God We Trust," are emblazoned around the seal to highlight the state's values. Officially adopted in 1900 and modified in 1985, the Florida State Flag is a proud emblem of the state and we are proud to make it for you here at Gettysburg Flag Works.
