These PVC inserts are used to bridge gaps in the opening of floor stands. For instance, if you have a floor stand flag base with an opening of 1.25" and want to use a flagpole with a 1" diameter, you would need to order two inserts, one at 1.125" (closes gap from from 1.25" to 1.125") and a 1" insert (slides into the 1.125" insert to accommodate the 1" pole). The adapters come in various lengths to accommodate stands and can be easily trimmed with a saw as needed for an exact flush fit.
