Sales Tax Exemption Update and Shipping Delays ***11/16/21***

We are currently unable to accept sales tax exempt orders on the website due to a software update. If you place an order on the website it will charge you sales tax. We are working to fix this issue. In the meantime, for tax exempt orders please contact us via email at sales@gettysburgflag.com or call us at 888-697-3524 and we will place the order for you quickly and without tax.

Shipping delays have become less common but we still recommend choosing UPS rather than USPS for shipping if you are in need of timely delivery, as USPS will sporadically have challenges meeting delivery promises.

Status Update: Shortages and Fulfillment Delays ***UPDATED 9/20/21***

We are still experiencing delays and longer lead-times on certain products due to labor and raw material shortages. Most U.S. Flag and core hardware products are fully stocked, but some other items may be delayed on shipping due to labor and supply chain challenges faced by our vendors and raw material providers. We are seeing the biggest shortages in Heavy Duty Polyester state flags, with labor backlogs on many fully sewn (appliqué) items. Please order early and let us know if you need a product in hand for a certain date.

As the Spring season starts and flag-related demand increases, we are seeing some delays and longer lead-times on certain products. Most all US Flag and core hardware products are fully stocked, but some other items may be delayed on shipping due to labor and supply chain challenges faced by our vendors and raw material providers. Please order early and let us know if you need a product in hand for a certain date.

USPS (Postal) shipping is still having issues although not as severe as during the Christmas holidays. Please do not select USPS Postal shipping if your order is at all time sensitive. Please be prepared that if you do select USPS your order may take up to a month or longer to arrive and you will be frustrated that the tracking number is not updating/your shipment appears caught in limbo. We cannot reship products that are delayed because of known issues with USPS. We are equally frustrated with the state of affairs and are seeking to minimize continued delays but realistically have no control once the package leaves our facilities.

As of 4/1/21 the East Greenbush showroom and pick-up counter is open.

Many orders are being caught in transit and delayed at shipping hubs across the country for several days (or weeks). Final delivery is often taking longer than is normally expected.

Please do not select USPS Postal shipping if your order is at all time sensitive. Please note that while most orders are being processed and leaving our facilities within 24-48 hours, our shipping partners are seeing sporadic delays and backlogs with delivery. Many orders are being caught in transit and delayed at shipping hubs across the country for several days (or weeks). Final delivery is often taking longer than is normally expected.

We urge our customers with time sensitive needs to place their orders early and choose UPS rather than USPS as the delivery option. The most severe delays are coming via the Postal Service. UPS and FedEx have suspended their on time delivery guarantees for this Christmas shopping season but are still much more reliable than USPS, at least from what we have seen thus far.

Tracking numbers may take longer to show status updates. This does not mean the package is necessarily lost or that there is a major problem, only that there is a delay. Many packages are stuck for several days without updating status and then will start to move to their final destination. We will continue to monitor progress and work to fulfill lost or misdelivered items, but most all items will be delivered after being delayed.

A Note on Gettysburg Flag Works Business Operations During COVID-19 - ***UPDATED 10/21/20***

Most orders are now shipping from our warehouse within our standard 24-48 hours timeframes. Certain items are still experiencing shortages due to supply constraints, but most of our product line is fully stocked and available.

Shipping services seem to have returned to normal levels of service with isolated exceptions. Specifically, USPS mail, both Priority and 1st class, are still experiencing occasional delays (though generally not as severe as we saw this Spring and Summer).

For our local customers please note that our storefront remains closed indefinitely so we can protect the health and safety of our workers. We are still offering curbside pick-up. Please call ahead to place your curbside order and arrange for pick-up between 9:30am and 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday.

We continue to wish all our patrons good health and safety with all that is going on in the world. We, like many others, are doing everything we can to try and maintain normalcy during this time and will continue to strive to meet the needs of our customers as we always have.

A Note on Gettysburg Flag Works Business Operations During COVID-19 - ***UPDATED 7/2/20***

With the many challenges this country has recently faced, it is very comforting to see such an increase in patriotism. We are very grateful that we have been able to continue to do what we love here at Gettysburg Flag Works.

However, COVID-19 shutdowns continue to cause issues with supply chains and shipping carriers. While we are working tirelessly to manage a large increase in volume and to process, produce & ship all orders in our normal time frames, some factors are simply out of our control and we are experiencing longer than normal lead times on some orders.

Our entire team is working over-time and through the holiday weekends. We are increasing the size of our team and training as quickly as we can while still keeping our staff safe and healthy.

We greatly appreciate your understanding & patience while we continue to get every order out the door in as timely a fashion as possible.

Currently we are experiencing fulfillment delays due to unprecedented demand surrounding the American Flag and related goods. We are heartened to see that patriotism is in full bloom and are working tirelessly to get your orders filled. Currently our fulfillment goal of shipping orders within 24-48 hours is not being consistently met, so please be patient with us as we work to fill your orders as quickly as possible. Most orders are still shipping within 48-72 hours but additional delays on specific orders may be seen. As always -- if you have a date that you need your order for -- please call us to confirm availability and delivery times.

The good news is that we are slowly working back to full strength in our facility and are able to have more of our team in the building to work on filling all your orders. Priority Mail service is still sporadically late so if you are looking for more reliable delivery we do suggest selecting UPS for your delivery. Thank you for your continued patronage.


*** 4/29/20 - Please note that we are seeing severe disruptions with orders selecting USPS Priority Mail for shipping****

The Postal Service has assured us delays do not mean the package is lost and will be delivered. We have seen standard Priority Mail, which normally takes 2-3 days for delivery, take up to 20 days for delivery. We are strongly urging our customers to choose UPS at checkout if the delivery is time sensitive. If you are unsure about delivery options or need your product expedited please call or email sales@gettysburgflag.com prior to ordering so we can assist in making sure you will have it on time. Thank you for your patronage and understanding and know we are doing everything we can to get your orders shipped to you as quickly as possible.


4/16/20 Status Update


Gettysburg Flag Works is continuing our operations with minimal disruptions due to the pandemic. Orders are shipping as normal and within our standard promised timeframes, although occasional delays may occur due to specific circumstances. Our number one priority is maintaining the health and safety of our employees and we have the majority of our workforce working remotely at this time. Warehousing and shipping operations are being maintained with strict safety protocols such as social distancing, masks and gloves for our physical workers.

While we have been lucky to have our operations continue somewhat normally, some of our shipping partners such as USPS have seen scattered delays and disruptions in service. Some orders that normally take 3 days to arrive are taking 10 days or more. We are working with our fulfillment partners to ensure that delivery of all orders will be made as soon as possible and we thank our customers in advance for their understanding and patience.

We are all operating in unchartered territory and will continue to make sure orders are received as soon as possible. Should your package be lost or indefinitely delayed by any of our shipping partners we will work with you on replacement of the items. Please allow us some time and patience to work thru any issues with the knowledge that we will honor our commitment to our customers as we always have.

Most importantly, we wish all our employees, customers and all Americans good health and safety during this experience. We must remember that whatever our differences may be, it is important to come together during this period of time and find solutions as a unified people and nation.
