American Samoa Flag - Outdoor

The current American Samoa Flag was adopted on April 24, 1960. The eagle present on the flag represents the nation's relationship with the United States and holds traditional symbols of power among Samoan chiefs in its claws. It is the only flag in the world to contain a single triangle with its base at the right hand side of the flag, rather than the left. Many flags, such as those of the Czech Republic, Cuba and South Africa have triangles with the base on the left hand-side, while the flag of Grenada does have a triangle with its base at the right hand side, but it is not the sole triangle in the flag, nor does it touch the far right hand side of the flag. As such, the flag of American Samoa, is the only world flag to contain a single triangle with its base at the right hand side.
