Wedding decor has changed a lot over the years.\u00a0 For the past couple of years we’ve seen a big turn towards the use of flags and banners for both indoor and outdoor decoration.\u00a0 Whether you’re going for a festival feeling, a soft crafty look or pulling family heritage into your decor, flags are a fun and easy way to decorate for your upcoming nuptials.\u00a0Wedding flags and banners help keep the celebration going at home too.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Welcome your guests with a stunning display of color and movement. Wedding flags are as different as the tastes of the planners. \u00a0Choose triangular pennants, rectangles, squares or a dovetail design like shown in this picture.<\/p>\n

2. Spell out your love with nautical code signal flags<\/a>. Ocean lovers will swoon over a nautical themed wedding even if you can’t actually get married on a boat like this couple. \u00a0Decorations like seashells, sand, starfish and sea glass complete your nautical theme.<\/p>\n

3. Create an entire canopy of fluttering flags. Indoor or out, a ceiling made of color and movement will bring your space to life and create an intimate feeling that your guests won’t soon forget.<\/p>\n

4. Enhance a stunning view and create art with colored fabric. Blank flags<\/a> come in all sizes and colors. Similar to flowers, flags can be a show-stopper\u00a0when\u00a0grouped together in all one color or can set a softer background when shades of similar colors are used together.<\/p>\n

5. Go whimsical with a softer color palette. Wedding flags don’t have to be large or made from traditional “flag” materials to be beautiful. \u00a0This one is quilted using burlap and lace. \u00a0It’s perfect for a woodland setting.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Give your guests something to wave. \u00a0Custom stick flags<\/a>\u00a0are fun, especially for kids! Start with messages on the flags, like shown here or let your guests write their own messages to the happy couple. \u00a0These wedding flags would be beautiful waved by\u00a0your guests as you walk back down the isle as a newly-wedded couple!<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0Personalize your message with lettered pennants. \u00a0While “Geronimo” may not be your preferred message when you say your I-Do’s, you can’t argue with it’s personality. \u00a0You could do “I Do” or “Mr. & Mrs.” in your wedding colors to make this style wedding flag your own.<\/p>\n

8. Brighten up the landscape with your wedding colors. Especially at outdoor weddings, you’ll find many places to hang a flag or banner. \u00a0Tent rigging, tree branches, balconies, awnings and more can be decorated easily with flags of any shape or size.<\/p>\n

9. Flags can both label your food AND make it totally adorable! Make a fun project out of pretty paper and toothpicks for your big day. \u00a0These are pretty but can also be practical. \u00a0Label food that is lactose free, gluten free or with likely allergens to keep your guests safe and happy.<\/p>\n

10. Enhance the natural beauty of your locations with strings of pennants<\/a>. Is there a walkway or path that your guests will follow when they arrive at your wedding? Strings of pennants can be a beautiful way to lead them to the ceremony or from the ceremony to the reception.<\/p>\n
