Gettysburg Flag Works was founded in 1993 and has grown to 16 employees operating out of a retail store in East Greenbush, NY. GFW services a local, state, national, and global customer base from its retail store and through its' website. GFW has grown over 20% per year since inception and continues to grow. We specialize in custom flags, banners, embroidery, promotional products, stock flags and flagpoles and associated goods. Our website continues to grow. Every position is a vital position within the company and will help drive the business forward.

Embroidery Production Specialist
(1 Part-Time Position at this time)
Job duties – Initial
-
Operate single head embroidery machine to embroider name, Initial, or decorative designs on garments, household articles, Material, or uniforms and to stitch cording, braid, or emblems on Material or garments
-
Responsible for maintaining and scheduling regular maintenance of embroidery machines.

Become familiar with our Job Traveler system used for scheduling production of items.

Saturday rotation for storefront and customer service during these shifts.Other Duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
-
High School diploma and minimum 2 years of college or equivalent experience in embroidery production or a related industry.

6-months minimum production embroidery experience with multi-head/single head machines, and ability to setup, operate, and perform quality control

Familiar with embroidery production software (design shop Pro) and both Mac OS and Windows platforms

Excellent communication skills with staff, customers and vendors via phone, fax, email and in person

Ability to learn and master various production techniques and be able to consistently repeat them on a daily basis

Seamstress, Production Assistant (1 Part time position at this time)
Primary Duties
Assist in production of banners, flags, and other related products. Duties will include the following: organizing work flow for each project, check production scheduling, assemble materials for a project, cutting and sewing of materials, heat pressing fabrics, cutting, weeding, and applying vinyl graphics, labelling products, punching grommets into products, take photos of completed projects, quality control checks on completed products, and assisting customers.
Qualifications

Sewing knowledge with commercial machines a plus.

Customer Service Representative / Inbound Sales (1 Positions at this time)
Store Hours: Weekdays: 9-5 Sat: 10-2; Staff Meetings: Second Wed. each month at 8:00 AM. Hours may vary with outside events.
Full-time: 40 hours during store hours listed above. Some Overtime may be necessary.
General Purpose of Job: Create Sales, both Inside and Outside, by provide outstanding, professional, friendly and knowledgeable customer service, establishing relationships with customers over the phone, internet, e-mail, and in person. This involves reviewing and understanding customer’s requirements, preparing quotes, placing orders and conducting detailed communications between the customer and in-house production, outside subcontractors and vendors and working with the entire GFW team.

Gettysburg Flag Works and DBA Field & Teams create and manufacture a wide variety of custom flags, banners, embroidered apparel and promotional materials. This is a Part-time position for a talented and energetic individual who is familiar with Graphic arts, sublimation printing, and or custom sewing. Candidates must be willing to learn and maintain an expert knowledge of flags, banners and related products. Additionally, candidates must be willing to familiarize themselves with various aspects of custom flag manufacturing including: sewing, fabric usage, laser cutting, heat pressing, vinyl application, screen-printing, digital printing and embroidery.
Job duties:

Assist our current Graphic Artist/Production Coordinator with all aspects of his/her job and during absences, step into the full role of Graphics and Production.

Primary responsibility will be communicating and coordinating detailed manufacturing, ordering and timeframe information between our sales department, graphic arts department, production department, vendors and our customers.

Must be levelheaded, self-motivated individual who can perform a variety of tasks simultaneously and problem solving while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced team environment.

Ability to learn and master various manufacturing techniques and graphic artwork systems

Approximately half of work time spent on artwork and communications, half of work time spent on manufacturing duties including hands on production activity and quality control.
