GFW was founded in 1993 as a home based business and now has 11 employees operating from a retail store in East Greenbush, NY. We service the local, state, national and world flag needs with a web site for retail sales. GFW has grown over 20% per year since it’s inception and continues to grow. We specialize in custom flags and banners, stock flags, flagpoles and related goods. Our motto is: “We have it, we’ll get it or we’ll make it.” GFW is organized with the employees and customers in mind. The employees are a close knit group. Each person knows his/her job and constantly strives to improve their job and the business. It is essential that all employees cooperate and work together as a team.

Position Title: Sales Associate – Full Time

Store Hours:  M-W-F: 9-5   T-Th: 9-7   Sat: 10-2     Staff Meetings: Every 2nd Wed at 8:00 AM.

Full-time:  40 hours during store hours listed above.  Some OT may be necessary.

General Purpose of Job:  Prepare customer quotes based on current pricing and establishing rapport with customers.  This involves, but is not limited to; answering the phone, communicating with and establishing rapport the customer, reviewing customer requirements, communicating with in-house production and outside subcontractors and vendors. Other duties may be assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Answer the phones, providing great customer service.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills with customers, vendors and coworkers.
  • Prepare customer quotations, being detail oriented.
  • Execute excellent organizational skills. 
  • Follow up on Quotes and Orders in Process.
  • Understand our products and services.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Storefront Customer Service
  • File Maintenance
  • Assist Customers with Internet Sales
  • Help keep the store neat and clean 
  • Use small tools to assist with customer products

Qualifications:

Education and Prior Work Experience:  3-5 years of sales/customer service experience, High School diploma or GED, College Degree preferred. 

Personality: Team Player, Outgoing, Good Sense of Humor, Creative, Flexible, Multitasker, Personable, Able to think outside the box, Willing to help even the most difficult customer solve their problem, Must be able to take constructive criticism, Speak clearly.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General Computer skills, including use of MS Word and Excel, and Experience with the Internet and WWW.  Above average skills in Spelling, Mathematics (including simple Algebra), Reading and Writing.

Physical Demands:  This position requires sitting, standing, lifting, walking, stretching, bending, pushing, talking, listening, pressing, use of small tools, long hours on computer.
