World Series Tickets
The first World Series took place
in 1903. Holders of the first World Series tickets watched as
the Boston Pilgrims, now called the Boston Red Sox, lost the game
to the Pittsburgh Pirates. There was a total of nine games with
the Pittsburgh Pirates winning 5 of them.
In 1904, World Series tickets were
not used, as the New York Giants refused to play against the Boston
Pilgrims as was scheduled. This was a result of a feud between
John T. Brush, owner, and John J. McGraw, manager of the New York
Giants against Ban Johnson who was the founder and president of
the American League.
The following year, the New York
Giants were the National League Champions once again. This time
they agreed to play the American League Champions. In this year,
1905, holders of World Series tickets witnessed the New York Giants
5 wins against the Philadelphia Athletics, now called Oakland
Athletics.
In 1919, holders of World Series
tickets witnessed history as seven players on the Chicago White
Sox lost eight games on purpose. These seven players were bribed
by professional gamblers to lose the series to the Cincinnati
Reds. The seven players were banned from baseball for life for
taking the bribe and an eighth player was banned for not reporting
what he knew.
One of the most exciting World Series
events in recent years was the win by the Boston Red Sox in October
of 2004. Many people valued their World Series tickets that year
as they watched the Boston Red Sox make a historical come back
during the World Series.
The World Series continues to be
a baseball event that you don't want to miss. The best way to
experience this event is to be right where the action is. Baseball
fans everywhere should exchange their TV remotes for a pair of
World Series tickets.
