Towns have come together in a team effort to set their names in the Guinness Book of World Records. Each year the Guinness Book of World Records is a witness to records being broken. So, how do you go about breaking or setting a new world record? Well, the first thing you have to do is decide what record you want to break. In choosing a record, keep in mind that the Guinness Book of World Records will not accept any feats that are too dangerous the attempting individual or the spectators. They will also reject any feat that can only be accomplished by one individual. It isn't much of a record if no one can possibly break it. Once you have picked out a record that you would like to break, you are now ready to notify the Guinness Book of World Records. This can be done online by simply filling out a form. From that time, it will take between 4 and 6 weeks to hear whether they would like you to attempt the record or not. There is a way you can get a response in only 3 business days. However, it is only available for a nominal fee. Yet, if you choose to pay the fee, you will also get all future correspondence back quicker until you have attempted the record. Now, breaking a record with the Guinness Book of World Records will not cost anything, unless you want a quicker response, but you don't get any compensation either. In fact, you aren't guaranteed a spot in the book either. With as many records being broken, they simply do not have the time and space to mention each one in every book. |
